INNOVATIVE ONLINE EDUCATION BACKED BY STANFORD AIM LAB RESEARCH.

We’ve spent over half a decade uncovering the learning preferences of today’s modern medical learner. We’ve applied these insights to create a new online resource designed to maximize learning for the Millennial student. We’re calling it learnly.

AN ONLINE LEARNING ECOSYSTEM DESIGNED WITH THE STUDENT IN MIND.

We have a suite of educational products to help students maximize learning, retain knowledge and prepare for clinical practice.

START

Our year-long monthly online curriculum designed to help prepare interns for successful transition to anesthesia residency training.

Foundations

Our year-long daily online and mobile curriculum designed to prepare learners for competency in the anesthesia basic sciences.

Advanced

Our year-long daily online and mobile curriculum designed to prepare learners for competency in the anesthesia clinical sciences. Course launches in 2016.

Showcase

Our collection of hundreds of high-quality recorded lectures, podcasts and procedural videos from the Stanford University School of Medicine Department of Anesthesia and the Stanford AIM Lab.

Tutorials

Sometimes you just need a quick 10-15 minute tutorial to help direct your learning or prepare you for a clinical case. Our Learnly tutorials provide rapid review.

Prime

Our short week-long online priming courses help prepare you for advanced clinical learning in brief, focused learning modules.

UNIQUE LEARNING RESOURCES.

We spent a lot of time listening to what residents say they want in an online anesthesia curriculum. We took their suggestions to heart when we created learnly.

Daily Lessons

Mastering the anesthesia sciences doesn’t happen overnight. We focus on incremental daily learning through daily reading, quizzes and flashcards.

Concise Review

Learnly provides a concise topic-based review, based on the published content outlines. Learnly is not a board-prep course. We aim to complement existing educational activities.

Learning Community

Join a community of learners from institutions across the United States to provide and receive peer-to-peer support to achieve proficiency in the anesthesia sciences.

3000+ Questions

Learnly provides an online question bank of thousands of questions, geared to prime learning and provide practice with A-type, R-type and G-set questions as part of preparing for competency in the anesthesia sciences.

Analytics

Learners are provided with feedback and assessment of their knowledge so they can identify areas that require further study. Each student’s learning accomplishments are recorded.

Wellness

Wellness is important to health and productive learning. Learnly provides days off from studying in order to focus on wellbeing. We provide strategies to reduce stress and burnout.

WORLD-RENOWNED FACULTY AND ACADEMIC INNOVATORS.

The learning design and technology behind Learnly was developed by a the Stanford AIM lab, a world-leader in online medical education. Our content team, led by Andrea J. Traynor and Glenn P. Gravlee, includes over 300 academic anesthesiologists from leading programs including Stanford, Harvard MGH, Harvard Brigham, Mayo Clinic, Yale, University of Colorado, and many more.

LARRY CHU, MD, MS
Larry Chu is an Associate Professor of Anesthesia and Director of the Anesthesia Informatics and Media Lab at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Chu studies how information technologies can be used to improve medical education and collaborates with researchers in simulation and computer science at Stanford to study how cognitive aids can improve health care outcomes.

ANDREA J. TRAYNOR, MD
Andrea J. Traynor is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Colorado. Dr. Chu and Dr. Traynor co-edited the Manual of Clinical Anesthesiology which was published in 2011. Dr. Traynor is an obstetrical anesthesiologist and director of the obstetric anesthesia fellowship at the University of Colorado.

GLENN P. GRAVLEE, MD
Glenn P. Gravlee is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs at the University of Colorado. He has been an educator in anesthesiology for over 30 years and has edited several books on cardiothoracic anesthesiology. He is a former Director of the American Board of Anesthesiology.

[Learnly | Foundations] has been a very helpful learning tool my CA-1 year. It is a great concise review that is easily digestible on a daily basis. I will continue to use it to learn basic topics in the first year of anesthesia residency and would recommend it for anesthesia residents nationwide. It definitely teaches high yield topics that are clinically applicable--and it shows!

The daily aspect of [Learnly | Foundations] with the emails and need to 'keep up' has been an amazing motivator. Even when on foreign travel for a week, I would find an internet source each morning and complete my [Learnly | Foundations] for the day before going about my vacation.

I've been charging through [Learnly | Foundations]. The content is amazing. I keep marveling at how much work must have gone into this. Thank you so much for creating this amazing resource.

There is nothing better than huge amounts of high quality questions that test our knowledge, expose weaknesses, push us to learn more, reveal to us what to go back and read or ask questions about, and help us with pattern recognition. There is NOTHING better.

Best single anesthesia resource I have ever used. It integrates everything I have been looking for: short concise modules, excellent information, self learning with progress tracking, questions, flash cards.... What else could a resident want! Not keeping [Learnly | Foundations] at our program next year is a crime (okay I'm being dramatic now). I'm obsessed and love this learning program. Thank you, Stanford, for making [Learnly | Foundations].
